Erwtje was born in Utrecht 1983. He is a self-taught artist/painter. Active in the graffiti scene from 1997 to 2012. In 2012, he quit the graffiti scene to start his own graphic design studio.

Erwtje returned to drawing his vignettes in a more sophisticated way in 2018, focusing on the graffiti subculture with romanticized graffiti scenes. “We are all here because our ancestors were hunters and killers, the game of graffiti is a sport that activates the tactical hunter in you.” In some ways, graffiti is close to the essence of being human.

The combination between realism, animated figures and environment gives a unique flavor to the artwork with the right atmosphere.
