QwErT is a Hungarian street artist who was living in London for almost a decade. Two years ago he moved to Barcelona searching for sunshine. He has always been very nomadic. He was living in Rio, Indonesia, and China too. He was traveling a lot, hitchhiked, and cycled months and months too, and this is where the deepest roots of his inspirations are coming from. According QweRT, being an artist is like being a blender… “The experiences that we are going through is the input, and the artwork is the output. Today you see a falling leaf dancing in the wind, and two years later your hands are randomly drawing a curve that follows the path of those leaves, which will dissolve in a turquoise mess, that recalls the color of the eyes of a woman that once you loved in La Paz, Bolivia…”

QwerT has always been very creative. He wrote a book, he is into socio and street photography, he’s been doing graffiti since he was fourteen, but he only started street art ten years ago. And he got addicted straight away! It was the missing puzzle piece for him, so he was painting everyday like crazy, and it’s not a surprise that soon London became too small for him. He started to travel with his cute character, and a little bit later he quit his job too. By now you can find hundreds of his works all around, in more than 20 countries, and his studio works in London, Barcelona, and Paris based galleries…

Apart from the obvious presence of his iconic character, in his studio works qweRT is trying to bring the streets into the galleries, and homes… He is using scrap wood, and boards that he found on the streets, he is making nails and screws artificially rusty, and with the messy backgrounds, and the asymmetric home built frames, he is vivifying the dirty, tortured, but beautifully random street walls of the world… In his art, the balanced contrast between order and chaos is also significant. Randomness and chaos overwritten by order overwritten by chaos overwritten by order in perfect harmony.
