Alessia Obinu
Alessia Obinu, born in Sardinia (Italy) and living in Barcelona, trained as a contemporary dancer. A self-taught artist, she has always been deeply connected to art, a passion that has accompanied her since childhood.
Her first works took shape on simple white sheets of paper, using only a black pen. Guided by the desire to fill the space with lines and shapes that emerged from improvisation, she created without a precise outline: an instinctive and liberating gesture.
Over time, she felt the opposite need: to remove, to simplify, to leave space for emptiness. This led her to explore acrylic painting, a medium with which she began to reshape her visual language.
Her current style is close to surrealism, with the desire to tell something that goes beyond the image and reality, exploring sensations, emotions, dreams, and other dimensions.
In January 2025, she held her first exhibition, “BEYOND REALITY,” at the Sala Basiana in Barcelona. She is currently collaborating with Claudia Reig Martin’s Mythym project, creating illustrations for her book.
